Retrofit or new installation of several process air control systems on printing presses at a well-known large Austrian printing company.
When printing on paper, it is important that the solvent content and pressure of the machine’s process air are perfectly balanced. This is achieved using several precisely calibrated PID controllers, which are influenced by pressure and temperature sensors as well as the type of printing.
The process air CPU is connected directly to the frequency converters, the machine, and the HMI system via Ethernet.
HRW Automation GmbH was responsible for the following tasks in this project:
- Electrical Design (ELCAD)
- Programming of the control software (Rockwell CompactLogix)
- Programming of the control system software (Wonderware INTOUCH)
- Delivery of the complete control cabinet (PLC, frequency inverters, etc.)
- Delivery of HMI components (IPC, touchscreen display, Intouch Runtime)
- Connecting the process air CPU to the printing press CPU
